Using the Mobile App
Below is the guide to using our Native Android Mobile App. The app is compatible with most Scanners which have a Built-in scanner or by connecting a Bluetooth scanner to a smartphone.
Our recommended hardware partner is ScanSKU. Their M Series has been tested and endorsed by our team
Tip: When you are using a built-in or blue-tooth scanner ensure it is set to ENTER or TAB after scan. This is a setting almost all scanners have which ensures when you scan into a field, it will auto move to the next field upon scanning so you won’t need to touch the screen to move to the next field
1. Downloading the App
The link to download the app can be found when you log into the web portal. Once logged in, navigate to the SETTINGS tab where you will see the download link
2. Logging In
Enter the same login details you use to log into the web portal for skumob and the same ones you received when you signed up. If successful you will see a login successful message and the menu will open ulp
Navigation Menu
The main navigation menu allows you to move between the different inventory functions. Scroll down the menu to see more options.
Receipting Stock
Press Receive in the Menu. Scan the barcode to receive. If you have set your scanner correctly to ENTER after scan, the location that product is already in will appear in the table. Or you can Select a barcode by pressing the magnifying glass to the right of the Barcode field and selecting it from a list.
Once the barcode is scanned or selected, you can either select the existing location this product is attached to (by pressing on it in the table), or Scan/Enter a new Location in the Location field
Tip: The padlock next to the Location field allows you to ‘lock’ the location. This is for situations you are scanning multiple products into the same location. When you Receipt the first product, the location field will not reset, allowing you to scan the next product into the same location. Press the padlock icon to enable/disable this.
Once you have entered or selected a location, input the quantity to receipt and press Receive Stock. A success message will appear
Optional Step: If you wish to enter a PO Number or other reference against the receipt, you can do this by tapping the PO checkbox at the top of the screen. Then enter the reference Number to the field which becomes visible. This number will remain against all receipt until you press Clear.

Or you can Select a barcode by pressing the magnifying glass to the right of the Barcode field and selecting it from a list.
An optional step is to enter a Shipment Reference number by pressing the Ship # checkbox at the top. This step is similar to the PO Number step in the Receipting Step. You may use this field to enter any reference for this shipment such as Shipping doc number, tracking number, carrier name etc…
Press on the location you wish to dispatch the stock out of. If this product appears in many locations, you may need to scroll down the list.W
When you have selected the location, enter the quantity to dispatch and press Dispatch / Deduct Stock. A success message will appear.

When the Transfer screen opens up, either scan/enter the From location or select it a list by pressing the magnifying glass. If you press the magnifying glass, a list of all your locations will pop up.
Note: If you have a large number of locations there may be a delay in this list popping up after pressing the magnifying glass. This is because the data is being downloaded and can take time. It is best to wait rather then keep pressing the magnifying glass.
Once the From Location has been entered, scan/enter or select the Barcode/Product and then the To Location in the relevant fields. The current stock in the from location will appear at this point, for reference. Finally enter the quantity to transfer and press Transfer. A success message will appear.
Note: If you attempt to transfer more stock then is in that location, a warning message will appear. The transfer will still go ahead and the stock will go below zero, this is simply a warning it to prompt the user to investigate or flag this to be investigated.

Press Products in the Menu.
In this section you can Add new products or Edit Product attributes such as Name, Description, Value, Supplier and Part Number.

Press Adjust in the Menu.
When the Cycle Count/Adjustment screen opens up, either scan/enter the location or select it a list by pressing the magnifying glass. If you press the magnifying glass, a list of all your locations will pop up.
Note: If you have a large number of locations there may be a delay in this list popping up after pressing the magnifying glass. This is because the data is being downloaded and can take time. It is best to wait rather then keep pressing the magnifying glass.
Once you have selected a location you can either scan the barcode you wish to adjust the stock for or press the magnifying glass. If you press the magnifying glass, only the products associate with that location will show in the list.
Tip: The padlock next to the Location field allows you to ‘lock’ the location. This is for situations you are adjusting the stock for multiple products in the same location. When you Adjust the first product, the location field will not reset, allowing you to scan the next product in that location. Press the padlock icon to enable/disable this.
Enter the Quantity to Adjust the Stock to (not this will not add or deduct the stock, rather it will replace the quantity with the number you enter)
Press Update Stock Qty and a Success message will appear.
Locations
Press Locations in the Menu.
In this section you can view your locations, the stock in each location and Add new Locations
Tip: If you are looking to add or edit a large number of Locations, this can be done with a bulk CSV import in the skumob web dashboard. See the user guide here
In this section of the app, press a location to see the products within that location and associated stock on hand
Press Add Loc to add a new location to your database.
Stocktaking
Press Stocktake in the Menu.
Here you can conduct a Stocktake of your stock.
What is the difference between a Stocktake and a Cycle count? The cycle count/adjustment section of the app will allow you to adjust your stock in real time. When you enter a new quantity, the stock level in the database changes
A Stocktake however, allows you to count your stock, record the quantities on hand, and produce an export of these quantities and adjustment, but not to change them in the database yet. Conducting a stocktake in the app will produce a CSV file you can email direct from the app for review or investigation before any adjustments are made. Once you are ready to make the adjustments to your data, you import your stocktake file via the web dashboard. See the guide for importing stocktake results here
To Start the Stocktake, press Start at the top of the App. A Success message will appear. The stocktake will show the first location and product to count.
Note: The order the stocktaking function will show you the locations is in alphanumeric order. So from a practical perspective, most warehouses name their locations in order that you would physically walk around them in.
If you wish to start the count at a different location, press the magnifying glass at the top. A list of your locations will appear, simply select the location you’d like to start at.
When you are at the location you need to count, scan the barcode of the product. If the barcode is not scanable due to damage or it is missing, you can press the Auto button next to the barcode field, which will similar a barcode scan. The user will see the stock on hand in the system (unless blind count is selected, see Settings guide) and can enter the physical stock on hand they count.
Enter the physical quantity and press Next SKU. If there is not stock in that location, click the Nil Stock checkbox (as you won’t be able to scan anything)
When you have completed your stocktake the completion message will appear. Or you can exit the stock-take at any time and export by clicking Exit in then top right corner. Here you can either Save the data as a CSV and attach to an email, or just save it onto the device locally (where you can transfer the file at a later time)
